General/Column One Response

We put on fairy wings
and took off our shoes.
We laid in the grass
and talked about clouds.
We watered the flowers
you called our friends,
and we danced to Nirvana
with the bees about our heads.

Sometimes life can be so full
it hurts
and you keep reminding me
you’ll get
as you giggle at the dandelions
tickling your feet.

Just a little
I whisper in your wings,
I call out to the clouds,
I beg of these blades
as I catch you in midstride,
and that laugh
that laugh
that laugh
stops time.
